The UC Davis Vascular Center is committed to improving the care of their patients with atherosclerosis—hardening of the arteries. To exponentially advance the treatment of this disease, the UC Davis Vascular Center coordinates its services among multiple physicians with different specialties. Their state-of-the-art clinical services encompass all elements of vascular care including diagnostic evaluations, medical management, surgical care, and inpatient critical care services. Funds provided by “Run for Your Lives” will assist in their promotion of a comprehensive, collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to treating vascular disease.

100 Year Tree Plan Logo

UC Davis 100 Year Tree Plan

The UC Davis Department of Facilities Management's 100 Year Tree Plan is dedicated to replacing campus trees as they decline or are removed. The goal of the plan is to plant 100 new trees per year for the next ten years, yet potential state budget cuts threaten our capacity to meet the tree quota. The environmental and financial benefits provided by these green assets are too valuable to risk. Funds provided by “Run for Your Lives” will help protect the state and campus investment in our urban forest, and provide extra support to further promote and educate the community about the environmental and economic impact of trees.

American Stroke Association Logo

American Stroke Association

The American Stroke Association was created in 1997 as a new division of the American Heart Association to bring increased awareness and funding for research and services specifically focused on stroke, the #3 cause of death and #1 cause of disability in the United States. Train to End Stroke (TTES) is a vital fundraising program of the ASA while at the same time TTES trains thousands of walkers and runners to participate in full or half marathons each year. Funds provided by “Run for Your Life” will assist in reducing death and disability from stroke through research, awareness and advocacy.
